Software & Media
On the surface, it might seem like software and media have too little in common to fit onto a single page. In my experience and past projects, the opposite tends to be the case:
- Websites and Web Applications are the very definition of an intersection between software and media;
- Plugins are commonly used to optimize workflows in media production, may that be in Adobe InDesign, Adobe XD, Figma, Premiere, or live production;
- Developer Experience is a field that focuses on improving software developers’ workflows. This almost always includes media like onboarding videos, great documentation, and more to minimize road bumps on the development journey;
- Media Production benefits a lot from having the ability to rapidly develop custom solutions for a project, may that be for live events or a film production.
And it is this very intersection where my specialty lies. I originally learned software development to create solutions for my filmmaking and graphic design endeavors. I then focused on creating a full software development skill set before using filmmaking, information architecture, design, and much more to create great developer experiences during my time at Adobe.
